Zest magazine's Senior Writer, Laura Potter, lets us in on her top London spots for yummy grub, PLUS check out her fave veggie moussaka recipe...

What is your favourite foodie thing to do?

I love going to local food markets and trying weird and wonderful flavours, or burying my head in a recipe book then trying my hand at a new dish.

What is your favourite drink and meal?

If I’m eating out the street food menu at Wahaca’s is delicious, Leon’s meatballs are yummy and Franco Manca pizzeria in Brixton Village is worth queuing for. If I’m cooking I do a mean vegetable lasagne. My favourite cocktail would be a mojito, I love a refreshing lime and soda after a run and a cup of tea with cardamom on a cold winter’s night is lovely and warming.

Most indulgent sweet treat?
I love citrus so any lemon-based dessert would get my seal of approval, but I’m also a stickler for a melt-in-the-middle chocolate pud.

Favourite cooking ingredient for November?
I try to eat seasonably so I’ll probably be rustling up some soup stuffed with root vegetables like butternut squash, sweet potatoes, swede and carrots.

Most incredible British Food hero?

I’m a huge fan of Rachel Allen - I have all her recipe books and they’re very well thumbed!
